Injury Prevention

Injuries are never entirely preventable but during the winter months always make sure that you don’t hang about in the cold after training. It cools the muscles and tendons too quickly and reduces blood supply containing all those important ingredients for muscle and tendon repair.

Also, make sure that you warm up and, more importantly, warm down. This does not mean stretching but a gradual increase in workload up to training level followed by a gradual reduction in workload down to rest level after training. You will reduce the likelihood of injury and feel less achy afterwards.
